Tehran short filmfest selects winners

TEHRAN -- The 27th edition of the Tehran International Short Film Festival was brought to an end on November 24 with a ceremony during which winners were announced.

The closing ceremony was held at Tehran’s Andisheh Hall where Culture Minister Mohammad Hosseini, Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Javad Shamaqdari and a group of Iranian and foreign cineastes, and jury members were taking part.
Films from different countries including Spain, Germany, Japan, France, Cuba, Taiwan, Canada, India, China, Britain, Brazil and several others were competing in the international section of the festival which ran from November 19 to 24.
The ceremony continued with short speeches delivered by the culture minister and his deputy, and was followed by handing the winners awards plus cash prizes. The following is the list of the winners:
Best Animation: “Shekarestan” by Babak Nazari (Tehran)
Best Documentary: “Liko” by Mohammad-Ali Hashemzehi (Tehran)
Best Research Work: “Lost Dream” by Ehsan Masum (Tehran)
Best Screenplay: “12th Companion” by Elaheh Solhju (Shahr-e Kord)
Best Sound: “Dusk of Snail” by sound recorder Arash Qasemi
Best Experimental Film: “My House Is Cloudy” by Karim Nazari (Ardebil)
Best Film: “Birth of a Bullet” by Karim Faeqian (Bushehr)
Best Producer: “Osku” by Ehsan Mohammad-Hassani (Tehran)
